    New installation of 7127

Ive just clean installed 7127 after having various problems with RC. My current problem is with permissions. All through-out beta Ive been using the built-in administrator account. This time however I thought Id stick with the user level account.

I normally move most of the folders under c:\users\<account> to drive F:\users\<account> but there are some such as my documents and music that refuse to relocate.

You can actually change the 'Shell Folders' locations.

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders

Something in that key may be able to help, and a change may mean a permission change too but i've not tried it.

    Hope it help :)

ah excellent! and theres a lot more that can be changed this way too!

Its probably not adviseable to relocate Appdata.

edit: i would rep you but i need to spread more around

hmm although I changed the registry entries and rebooted, the user account folders are still pointing to c:\ like c:\users\<account>\favorites.

Its My docs, music, videos, pictures that I cant relocate. Where I want to put them was previously used at the built-in administrator account level.

The whole 'Administrator' account deal is a bit sh*te really. I thought we were administrators

The idea behind using user level accounts is your more protected behind UAC etc whereas with full administrator you have more access.
