As I look around to gather drivers for a new install of Win 7 Pro from XP Pro, I am having a problem, the inf file. Does Win 7 have the inf file for GA-965P/DS3? I am also not sure about the SATA driver for the Gigabyte controller, since this is the one my sys HD is connected to; the ones I have on the disk that came with the mobo...earlier than Win7. Thanks.
Here you go for the mobo. You didn't specify if it was 32- or 64-bit operating system.

Sorry about that.. XP Pro is 32, I will be using a Win 7 Pro upgrade doing a clean install.
Boot the Win7 DVD, it will scan the HD to see XP and allow use of Upgrade version key even if you then use Drive Options>Advanced to repartition and format your HD before install.
Use the drivers given by the installer unless performance dictates otherwise. This is not XPired or Vista - MS spent a fortune getting the drivers into the installer or quickly available via optional Windows Updates. Any drivers missing then in Device Manager can be found on the Support downloads webpage for your computer or device model.
On about 200 Win7 installs, after optional Windows Updates I have only had to import an average of about one driver per install, and only had to change out the chipset about 2 dozen times when performance dictated it.
