Here is the standard Acer Recovery Instructions

1. Power on the machine
2. At the white ACER BIOS screen, hold the “Alt” key and press the “F10” key simultaneously to start Acer eRecovery
3. Once eRecovery has loaded, click “Restore to Factory Default Settings”
4. Click “OK” to continue
5. From here, the eRecovery process will update all the data on the C: drive and restore a fully functional factory image (approximately 10 minutes).
6. Once eRecovery has run, press “OK” to reboot unit

I'm going to backup essential files though, might take a while. This laptop has 2x500 GB hard disks!

You might want to save a Win7 backup image so you have a path back if Factory Recovery should fail. Make a WIn7 Repair CD so you can boot in to apply the image if necessary.

Many tech enthusiasts eventually find a clean-copy DVD of their OS version and reinstall using the OEM Product Key on the COA sticker on machine. Any retail installer can also have all versions unlocked: Windows 7 Universal Installation Disc - Create

When ready, make your Recovery Disks and a Backup image so you have a path back to factory condition or your current state.

The installer is mostly driver-complete, with newer arriving quickly via optional Windows Updates. Any drivers then missing in Device Manager can be found on the Support Downloads webpage for your model computer or device.

Install updates and then programs slowly over time to gauge performance after each. Don't let any programs write themselves into msconfig>Startup as they become freeloaders on your RAM/CPU and can spy on you. I only allow AV and gadgets. https://www.sevenforums.com/crashes-d...-msconfig.html

Use a lightweight free AV like MS Security Essentials which works perfectly with Windows 7 Firewall. http://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials/

When it is finished, clean and order the HD perfectly using state-of-the-art free CCleaner then Auslogics Disk and Registry defraggers monthly.

Then save a Win7 Backup image externally so you never have to reinstall again, just reimage the HD or replacement using DVD or Repair CD.

It has been a while since I had an Acer laptop, but I believe that Ted's (Bare Foot Kid) answer will suffice in helping you to meet your goal.

However, you can download and install any of the Acer Empowering Technology programs from Acer's website. More than likely, you will get a more up-to-date version anyway.

Well.... I didn't notice your replies, so here I am on my "clean" reinstall of Windows 7 Home Premium x64. Cleaning all the bloatware Acer gives with it (all the useless games, programs etc...) but this time I won't delete Acer eRecovery.

So the recovery has installed like a charm, took about less than 30 minutes before I saw my desktop wallpaper again. I'm gonna make an image of the current installation of my Windows, so in the future I can recover the image I made myself instead of using the Acer recovery partition with all the bloatware.

First of all thanks for your support, this forum really has great support. Without you I would still be here looking for a solution, because I didn't know about the ALT+F10 option when in BIOS. I know that the hidden partition was there, I only couldn't manage to find out how to access it or how to recover a clean Windows installation from that partition.

I'll be using Acronis TrueImage Home 2010 to backup my Windows installation. I have alot of experience with Acronis so it shouldn't be any problem.

Hi everybody!
I'm new and don't speak English very well, so hope you'll forgive any mistakes..
About 1 week ago, I removed by an accident the partition containing Acer eRecovery tool.
I'm running Ubuntu now, from a USB flash drive, cause I can't recover Windows 7 Home Premium.
I have to send my PC in warranty, cause I realised it has a hardware problem (before removing it, Acer eRecovery didn't work, anyway), but I'd prefer to send with the default components, so that they couldn't find an excuse not to repair it free.
Can I download the eRecovery tool from somewhere and install it on my PC again?
