Can't format windows 7

Hi!

The problem is that i can't format my windows 7 anymore... When I try format or just start up the windows normally, it just loads a while and then comes a blue wallpaper screen with a cursor and nothing happens... I have tried to change boot from harddrive to cd/dvd, disable floppy etc... so whatever I try to do or change something it just ends up with the blue wallpaper screen with a cursor. I also have been waiting for 2h that something would happen in time, like some installation bar would come up.. But nothing happens!

Hello Camouflage, welcome to Seven Forums!

If you are trying to format so you can reinstall Windows 7 and there is nothing on the entire Hard Disk Drive (HDD) that you need/want to save have a look at this tutorial at the link below, it over-writes everything on the entire HDD giving you the best possible space to install Windows to and it goes hand-in-hand with a clean install.

I tried to do those things that u said me but I can't boot I can't do those things. When I put the DVD in DVD-reader and boot computer, there will be no option for booting from CD. Windows just runs normaly and ends up with the wallpaper and cursor.

Infact, the reason why I am trying to format my computer is that I can't do anything. I hope that formatting could get me away from this problem, but I can't even do it. I found some webpages that ppl have had same kind of problem, but they didn't give me an answer.

Like this: Boot up to blank desktop

or this: Windows Boots to a blank desktop or wallpaper

or this: Computer boots to a black screen w/mouse pntr

And when I try to run the windows in safe mode, it just freezes to the black screen in which I can only move a cursor. Ctrl + alt + delete or windows button + r don't work.

EDIT: And I can't even manage to get in that point where you need to write your password to log in the windows account.

Download HirensBoot CD, burn it as an image file, and boot your computer from the CD.. You will find several apps that will format your drive, then do a clean install of Windows when you are finished..

You have to set the BIOS of the PC to boot first from the DVD drive instead of the Hard Disk Drive (HDD), have a look at this tutorial and then my original advice will work for you.

Have you tried a using a bootdisk via memory stick (usb)?

Yes I did that already, only "_" thing shows up to corner instead of "Press any key to boot from CD...". And when I try to press any key nothing happens, it just continues starting windows.

No I haven't.

Try it but you need to make sure its bootable

Maybe the Windows 7 installation DVD you are using is bad?

If the Windows 7 install disk is one you burned yourself it may be a bad burn and needs to be done again, if so this would be the first thing to try.

Use the free ISO burner at the link below to burn another at a speed of now more than 4x and select to let the program to verify the disk before it finishes.

I don't think so because I used these same DVDs few months ago to reinstall windows (and DVDs don't have any scrathes or dirty). Well maybe I should try that anyway. If that doesn't work, then I have to try that usb method.
