Grrrrreat news for you! I've made up a few live sticks using the shareware version until actually ending up buying the full version for the program itself.

Generally you will see some great results with it and I'm sure you are relieved not to have to pay out just to see 7 running for you there!

Remember to burn a repair cd using the option for that in the Control Panel>Backup & Restore and hang onto the install key as well. Those can come in handy if you run into any problems for sure!

Congratulations! THink of all you've learned. You'll be teaching others soon.

Some tips:

The installer is mostly driver-complete, with newer arriving quickly via optional Windows Updates. Any drivers then missing in Device Manager can be found on the Support Downloads webpage for your model computer or device.

Install updates and then programs slowly over time to gauge performance after each. Don't let any programs write themselves into msconfig>Startup as they become freeloaders on your RAM/CPU and can spy on you. I only allow AV and gadgets.

Use a lightweight free AV like MS Security Essentials which works perfectly with Windows 7 Firewall.

When it is finished, clean and order the HD perfectly using state-of-the-art free CCleaner then Auslogics Disk and Registry defraggers monthly. CCleaner - Free software downloads and software reviews - CNET
Auslogics Disk Defrag - Reviews and free Auslogics Disk Defrag downloads at

Then save a Win7 Backup image externally so you never have to reinstall again, just reimage the HD or replacement using DVD or Repair CD. Backup Complete Computer - Create an Image Backup

Once you have a second drive available you can dedicate for backups and storage you can easily create a full system image with the option seen in 7 itself. Backup Complete Computer - Create an Image Backup

If you decide you want the builtin method you can opt for a regualr shortcut. Create a System Image Shortcut - Create

You would certainly want to get familiar with the recovery methods for restoring an image as well. System Image Recovery

(Actually I'm a bit overdue on the Oct. image here lately. )
