    Windows 7 BSOD - Infuriating

Hey all, kind of new to this so bear with me. I'm running a bone stock HP Blackbird 002 which I pre-ordered. It came with the following from stock:

    MOBO - ASUS Striker Extreme
    CPU - Pentium 4 QX6850 Extreme
    RAM - 2 GB Corsair Dominator DDR2 800 MHz
    GPU - 2 x nVidia 8800 Ultra SLI
HD - 80GB Western Digital Raptor 10,000 RPM Drive
500GB Seagate Barracuda 7,200 RPM Drive
    OS - Windows Vista Ultimate

Recently, the high speed hard disk failed, which contained my old OS so i figured this was a perfect time to upgrade to Windows 7 while taking advantage of 64 bit and upgrading the RAM.

I have installed a new WD Raptor 10,000 drive (450GB). I'm trying to keep things simple, so I decided to install the RAM AFTER I get the OS running. Well, what do you know, it begins to "load files" and when the bar fills, I get the BSOD PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA. The only hard drive installed is a 100% new Raptor drive, and I'm not sure where to go. Technical information: ***STOP: 0x00000050 (0xFFFFFA0003d14FFE, 0x0000000000000001, 0xFFFFF8000D36E415, 0x0000000000000007)

Any and all help is much appreciated.

Hello StealthATK, welcome to Seven Forums!

The first Google I clicked mentions the possibility of bad RAM, so I would suggest you download and run Memtest86+ and boot the CD to run at least several passes to see if it comes back with errors and go from there.

    Thanks for the response!

I would love to DL the software, but I don't have any running OS on the computer in question. I'm not sure how I'd test the RAM, are you able to elaborate any? Also, if it helps, in desperation I've swapped out my old Corsair Dominator (which came with the computer and is approximately 3 years old) with the stuff I was attempting to upgrade it with, which had no positive results. Just the same BSOD at the same time. It's very consistent.

Use the PC you're on now to DL Memtest86+ and burn it to CD, as it comes as an ISO you'll also need the ImgBurn at the link below to burn it, as it was designed to run fron a CD it would be best put on a CD then boot from the CD and it starts the RAM test automatically.

Great, thanks. Currently don't have any blank discs, so I'll give it a whirl tomorrow.

Absolutely, I'll make sure to let you know how my memory fares. The link you posted was quite informative. I wonder why swapping new memory with old memory wouldn't solve the issue... Any way, yes. I'll keep the thread alive as it develops.

    Thanks again.

It could also be a bad DIMM on the motherboard which Memtest will help in determining too.
