Win 7 bootloader failure

Hello everyone,

I got serious problem and don't know what to do. I have notebook Fujitsu Siemens Amilo Pi 2540 with Vista Home Premium preinstalled. There are 3 partitions on disk: C system, special reserved partition for recovery and D. I installed Win 7 Ultimate. Everything gone fine, but after restart following happens: computer stuck in cursor screen without any error message and boot nothing. Booting from USB or DVD doesn't work. I have removed disk and put it in external reader. I formated C partition. Result is the same. Computer doesn't boot any way.

1) Is there any possibility to recovery old Vista form recovery partition?
2) Or is there any option how to rewrite bad bootloader?
3) Or what else can I do to let my computer boot?

First you would get more response for a vista OS on vista (vistax64.com) but.

Do you have a working Vista dvd? It works on another computer?

Ifr so boot from the working dvd (not a restore dvd). What happens?

I know but it is qustion between Vista and Win 7 so I didn't know where to write first. I don't have working DVD with Vista because there is recovery part on disk which may content Vista files and because there was Vista preinstalled when I bought the computer. I have functional bootable DVD with Win 7 from which I installed Win 7 Ultimate. But now, after restart, it doesn't boot from any resource anynmore.

I burned it normaly with burner integrated in Deamon tools. I was able boot from it without problem, so I could installed Win 7. So I know that DVD is burned properly. The problem is that now after restart it doesn't boot from any resource: USB, DVD or disk. There is no response and no error message. I didn't try to reset CMOS yet, so I will and I'll write what happend. And that trick with removing RAM, it looks interesting, I'll try it too. Thank You both, You gave me new hope.

Because the DVD will boot doesn't mean it is burned correctly. Use ImgBurn at 4xc speed to burn ISO.

WHere did you get the ISO? Have you confirmed the HASH or downloaded another copy to try it?

These steps I have given you are not "tricks" - they are the known procedure to overcome install failures. Try each step in order and report back on each step, so we can answer your questions or give you futher help.

Everything gone different. You probably were right about bad DVD integrity, because my DVD drive is broken and whole data from D are lost. Now I got Linux so maybe something better. I have one more qustion. How is that HASH done? It is very good to know how to check the similarity of two produscts but I dont know how to do it. Thank You very much for advice and Yor time.

The bad burn or ISO wouldn't break your DVD drive. It may have been the problem to begin with.

What was D and how did you lose it?

Try to burn the disc with the lowest speed..even though i have burnt with max speed no error occurred..
