    "cmlwu is compressed" At startup

Ok so my friend brought her laptop around after being showed the above message, it was a fresh install of Win 7 32bit

Tried a system restore through the windows cd recovery option

I was unable to get a screen shot as she was in a hurry, Ended up wiping it clean and reinstalling windows.

i know it isn't that urgent now but does anyone know what it could possibly mean? i couldn't find anything on Google.

    Cheers Paul

Paul is that the full message, and are you sure it's correct?

The file isn't a known file by Google except in this thread, so the full error message text would have to be googled correctly to see how others have dealt with it.

There isn't enough information now to say for sure, but if she couldn't boot it is similar to an error where the C drive files are compressed and cannot boot.

That fix is to browse via the Repair CD "Load Drivers" link to rightclick C>Properties and uncheck the "Compress files to save space on HD."

Yes Google didn't come back with anything which is strange, maybe I'm the first to post this problem which i doubt

Oh well it's working now so all is good.

    Thankyou.
