    Win7 installation can't resume after 1st restart

    Hi everyone,

In Windows installation process, After installation files of Windows 7/Vista are copied, laptop can not boot anymore to resume the process.
Also this occurred even after the image backup is restored on formatted C:!
However, after this the laptop can not boot by any bootable DVD! - it pauses on a black screen with a blinking hyphen.

After C: is recreated and formatted, this process can be repeated!

I repeated this with a new brand HDD; That occured again!
I think something wrong with my laptop (hp pavilion dv2000).

    What's your opinion?

    Thanks in advance.

Wipe your HD before installing: SSD / HDD : Optimize for Windows Reinstallation

Where did you get Win7? If you burned it yourself, try burning another DVD using ImgBurn at 4x speed. Make sure ISO says "Bootable" in text at left when loaded.

Remove all but 2gb of RAM to try install, all peripherals and other HD's.

    Thanks.
I'd tested by several Windows DVDs, however the result is the same.

So I'd tested with removed USB mouse before. Nope.

    I tried with only one 2GB module, it allowed me to boot again and copy another set of Windows files beside previous unsuccessful installation;
    Still stops after 1st restart!

Another opinion says perhaps something's wrong with mainboard chips.

Did you wipe the HD using Diskpart steps linked in the very first step I gave you?

    Thanks.

No. I'd tested it with 2 HDDs; The result was the same.
Sometime with bluescreen error that I could not get it refers to what kind of trouble.

I've taken it to my friends store.

Be sure to post back with what your friend finds as the issue.

    Hi everyone, I'm back.

My friend gave back my laptop with only 1 Vista Windows and said that they could NOT find any problem with my laptop and they could install one Windows, but during 2nd-Windows (D:\Windows) installation they faced with a blue screen error. He recommended me not to install another Windows.
As I had 2 HDD and no important data, I tried to re-install Vista + Seven again on the 1st HDD; I could do it and after 2 weeks, both work well now - without any reason!

We still don't know what the problem was, but I name it: Pay "Seasonable Ransom of Laptop in order to keep it working" problem!

    Hello again.

So you got it sorted but have no idea what the issue was and now all is well?
