    Acer eRecovery

    Hi,
A warm hello to all members of this forum.

Recently, I got an Acer z5610 AllInOne computer.
Everything is installed and working fine.
The problem I have now, is that I need to install a second hard drive(64 bit SSD)

I opened the case, installed the drive, and windows recognised it immediately.

Now I want to change the system from old HDD to the new SSD. Is there a shortcut? Acer eRecovery doesn't seem to support system drive change.

    Thanks in advance!

Hello ethanasi, welcome to Seven Forums!

Before we make any specific recommendations will you please post a snip/screen-shot of the entire disk management drive map with a full description as to which drive/partition is which, so we can see what you have going.

In the Windows start menu right click computer and click manage, in the left pane of the "Computer Management" window that opens click disk management and post a snip of that.

Be sure to post back with any further questions you may have and to keep us informed.

You can try imaging it over since Acer doesn't have a free cloning app as far as I know. I would use free Macrium Reflect or Paragon Backup 10 to save image to external or partition on the source HD.

You may not like the performance since SSD's require calibration that can be messed up by imaging. In that case do the clean install with source HD unplugged, then plug it back in afterward to copy files over, or even boot it using one-time BIOS Boot Menu key.

Did you initialize the SSD in Disk Mgmt? Click on the panel to left of SSD in drive map if not.
