Installation issues. Hey guys, I am trying to install Windows 7 on my computer. For some reason, it loads up to the part where you select the language. Then when it says "setup is starting..." i just get the busy little circle thing. It's been like that for about 15 minutes, is this normal?

Hello rosefox911, welcome to Seven Forums!
First: If the Windows 7 install disk is one you burned yourself it may be a bad burn and needs to be done again, if so this would be the first thing to try. Use the free ISO burner at the link below to burn another at a speed of now more than 4x and select to let the program to verify the disk before it finishes. ImgBurn Free ISO Burning Software Second: After you have made backups of everything you care to save and you want to do a real wipe "secure erase" to the Hard Disk Drive (HDD) have a look at this tutorial at the link below, it over-writes everything, all the old Windows code including all the old Windows drivers, giving you the best possible space to install Windows 7 to; it goes hand-in-hand with a clean install. Hey,
Thanks for replying! I have my computer specs in my profile now, also I managed to get it to the "expanding windows files" part, it's at 1% and has been for about 15 minutes. is it suppose to be this slow? I have standard 7200rpm hard drives. Also, I have the default windows 7 CD not a burned copy. | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 CPU i7 920 Motherboard MSI Eclipse SLI Memory 6 GB DDR3 RAM Graphics Card Nvidia GTX 460 |

I replaced my hard drives with 2 western digital black caviers. Still, it seems to be taking an exceptionally long amount of time to install. I actually got it to install on the other hard drives I had but the performance was dreadful. Any suggestions on what might be the issue with my computer? | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 CPU i7 920 Motherboard MSI Eclipse SLI Memory 6 GB DDR3 RAM Graphics Card Nvidia GTX 460 |

How was performance with your last OS? Vista?
Did you run the Windows 7 Upgrade advisor?
Did you follow the steps in my earlier post?
Check EVent Viewer>Admin view to google repeat errors text and ID# to resolve. Check also Performance Log on Advanced TOols page accessed by clicking WEI score link at Computer>Propertiies. Look for cued issues on Tools page and Generate a System Health Report. | My System Specs | | |

Okay,
So what i d id was I tried installing vista (32 bit) instead of windows 7 (64 bit) and it went by blazing fast. NO problems at all and my computer is perfectly fine. But, now when I try to reformat with windows 7 64 bit, it just stalls at "windows is starting" this is before windows 7 even begins installing. any suggestions? | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 CPU i7 920 Motherboard MSI Eclipse SLI Memory 6 GB DDR3 RAM Graphics Card Nvidia GTX 460 |
