Windows boot splash screen not working in W7 Pro

    Hi all
I had to do a "Windows repair" boot on a W7 X-86 W7 Pro machine.

Now when I boot it up I get the boring "Vista" like blank screen with the Microsoft Bar instead of the nice "W7 Windows starting " with the spinning W7 cube.

It's not a major issue but is this "fixable" easily.

    Cheers

I saw that once here when going to use the older 1.7.2 version of EasyBCD on the 7 RC when those were first available and ended up performing a repair install to restore the 7 logo screen instead of looking at the previous version's green scroll bar. That was the fix for that unfortunately while the repaired RC was run for six months without any other problems then.

The older 1.7.2 had been written mainly for Vista to start with until the new 2.0 version's beta builds were far enough along to work well on 7. That's how that one came about while generally a repair install now shouldn't be seeing the Vista look unless the recovery console part like what is seen on a repair cd replaced it.

Other then the repair install a second time that did restore the 7 logo I doubt there's any easy solution except ending up doing a totally new clean install.

The other idea might be using a 3rd party boot screen replacer program and switching the repaired boot screen with the 7 if you could manage to locate where that can be found. Someone here must know the file name for it however with the customizations of themes many have like one thread seen for making changes to the animation part of it. https://www.sevenforums.com/customiza...ndows-7-a.html

This one is closer however. How to change the post screen

Too bad that still doesn't name the bmp file itself while that be a large help for restoration. Good Call on that one! bill2

    Thanks there
That fixed it. - Much better than the Boring Vista start up.

What had happened was I wanted to get rid of "hidden" restore partition when I bought the machine --replaced Windows starter with W7 Pro and also wanted to split the HDD into Windows C and data D. I also got rid of the 100 MB system partition -- and after using the repair option frpm W7 repair disc is when I noticed the splash screen change.

    Thanks

If that is a netbook, there were issues with the screen size (resolution) that caused that but I'm not sure that's still an issue.
