Windows 7 Prof - Install - NEED HELP PLEASE
OK This is going to be a long post so you know exactly what I have and what is happening.
1) Have a Compaq SR1365CL
2) Its a AMD Athilon Processor - Pretty much Stock except for this with 2 GIG RAM
3) Changes made
I installed a WD SATA 1.5 TB just installed - worked fine when I cloned XP prof SP3
I installed an Video card HD4350 Radeon - Also worked fine with XP prof SP3
Planning on upgrading my Mother board in about 6 months - but would like to run Window 7 to get used to it now - using Windows 7 Profession Upgrade disk - Custom Install.
I am trying a Clean install - FYI I still have my 250 GB drive with all my data. - I also ran the Windows 7 Upgrade utility for XP that will reset all my settings once I get Windows 7 running
Problem -I am getting a blue screen on showing the atikmdag.sys - Which I understan means the ATI driver is not correct.
What Tried
I found the driver on Microsoft Update Catalog and the AMD site - It's the right driver. I have tried installing the both driver by going into Repair Windows choice during the install and going to Load Drivers - but every time I try is gives me a message Drive Load Failed
Here's my exact steps - Im using a DVD disk I burned from a MS down load record at 1X - Seems to do the right things - I do not think the disk is bad.
1) I have done a clean install and let Windows 7 set the partition
2) I have tried drivers from Microsoft Update Catalog AND AMD
3) I boot off my DVD install disk - I go into the repair disk option - I go to load drivers - I find the correct driver for a HD4350 - everytime I try to load the driver i get "driver load failed"
When ever it gets to Starting services during the install - I either get a blue screen or it keeps looping to a winddow INSTALL Windows - The computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an unexpected error - Windows installation cannot proceed ***** Restart the installation.
HELP PLEASE -
