| Windows 7 Ultimate x64, XP Mode, W8 RP VM, Linux Mint Debian 2nd OS HD- 7 Pro x64 second case New England | The arm slaps up against the drive spindle routine! DOA! Once that arm goes kiss the drive bye bye! If you are hearing a constinuous clicking sound that would be the main indicator of a failed drive needing replacement. Other drives can fail without making a peep while the tick ... tick ...tick ...tick sounds are the one universal indicator for a mechanical failure with no repair options. Hopefully you won't be losing anything important. If the drive was just bought new return it immediately for a refund or replacement. |
