Colofaus, I'm not that familiar with the ins and outs of XP's DISKPART which is a command-line program for partitioning, formatting, making partitions primary, active, assigning drive letters. I have used DisKPart on my Win RC system to produce Win 7 on a USB stick, to produce a minimal PE (Preexecution Environment) on a USB stick, and to produced a RE (Recovery Environment) on a USB stick. Win 7 installs Diskpart into %windir% (C:\Windows for most people). The latest and greatest DISKPART is included in the Windows 7 Automated Installation Kit. This is the diskpart which I use. What I'm saying is that I use a Microsoft program that comes with the Windows 7 Automated Installation Kit for all of my partitioning needs. Karl

    Thanks Karl,
I'll keep what you have said in mind and believe me I need all the help I can get!
I've got to get a couple of USB sticks (only have one at the moment). When I sort out what I've got at the moment I may well be in touch for some more advice.
    Regards,

After breaking up an array here for the 64bit RC I decided to use the second of the pair for that for another at the 32bit RC. In fact I simply nuked both drives entirely for clean installs of the 64bit on the first again along with the existing install on the system's host drive.

For each setup I first booted from a live GParted cd in order to eliminate the pair of dual partitions on each one for the array already seeing a recovery partition on the host. The images here show the initial split drives setup and now the present layout.

Your best option to save on time as well as the hassles of moving the 7 primary back is simply backing things up and deletion of both to see a brand new single primary and a nice clean install of 7. If you opt for a second storage partition you can still see that done as well when first deciding how much drive space you want for 7.

When going to break up the array the second 64bit RC install on the first drive reported the second drive of the pair offline until initializing that to now see only the host with a second one there. Note another drive was made visible here while no flash drives were plugged at the time.

    Did you succeed?

"Easeus Partition Master 3,5 Home Edition" works fine...You have to click " apply" after each change you'd made during process. It reboot instantly to make change, then you can install after choosing your drive for 7.:)

It works smooth on my laptop and i have done twice...i'm on the third time soon for the 7201 (i'm waiting for a language pack to leak, only now)

Not yet mate, actually I've not been well, so I've been steering clear of any technical stuff (constant pain is not good for the concentration). But thanks for the tip and encouragement, I will get it done, it might just be a few weeks happening lol.

No worries...When you're ready it will be a pleasure to guide you in this process. Keep Easeus near you, it is a really handy stuff to work with.
It does all you need to have for a clean install of your W7 or else.

    See you then.
