I had a laptop a while ago, I believe it was a Toshiba, that hibernated instead of slept. This required the power button to be pressed to "wake it up" and sounds like your issue. Please, if you could, go under "power options" from your system and security control panel, or from the taskbar, and click "change plan settings" on the power plan you use. Click "change advanced power settings" and post a snip of the windows for me.
