    1) If you are talking about an alienware recovery disk/restore disk, that can only be used to reinstall win7 on an alienware computer that came preinstalled with that particular version of win7. Its illegal to try install it elsewhere since OEM licenses are tied to the computer they came with.

    2) As for possibilities, no, it wont work normally on any other computer. For one, it will install alienware specific drivers, logos etc. which wouldnt work on any other computer. Secondly, win7 will not activate.

I think your referring to an alienware recovery disk, if so, no. It's designed to only work on that particular model, only your computer. You will need to buy windows 7 which is an expensive upgrade.

Guys I don't think it's a recovery disc, Alienware lappies ship with 'Alienware-branded' Windows 7 INSTALLATION discs.
If this is indeed the case with your disc, it WILL install, you may still need to download additional/better drivers though

Post back a screenshot of the contents of the DVD, using Snipping Tool in Start Menu.

If it says Win7 Installation DVD, it is often just that.

How do you plan to activate it if it installs correctly?
