My bad, I keep forgetting that you have to be "in Windows" to run the repair install.
If you have an installer disk, you can boot to Method Two in the system restore tutorial.
BFK, how do I make or get an installer disk?
BFK, how do I get into the bios to see if it is set to dvd/cd drive first?
Either set the DVD drive as first device to boot in BIOS setup, or use the one-time Boot Menu key given on first screen to boot the DVD.
Select Repair My Computer on second screen.
See if it finds an installation to repair, accept any offered repair.
If it doesn't start, boot back in the same way to choose Advanced Recovery Options, select Startup Repair.
Let us know how this goes.
Startup Repair
I'm trying to access my bios but no luck as yet just blank screen
when you first start seeing text on your screen (from boot) press the (delete button ) on your key board maybe 2
or 3 times. that should open the bios.
