XP - Windows & Ultimate migration preparation

First off - this forum is a lifesaver! I have done quite a bit of reading here and appreciate everyone's contribution.

While I think i'm somewhat prepared to install Win7 this weekend, I was hoping someone can help me with my last few questions.

    1. I will be installing win7 and all programs on Ocz Vertec 2 SDD. Should I only install the sdd first and then hookup the remaining data drives after?

    2. I have 3 drives (320gb WD3200AAKS). 1 is currently loaded with XP and program files and 2 with data files from my XP machine. I would like to start with fresh drives for the new sytem - should I back up required data to my external and then format the drives in XP prior to installing Win7?

I will be using Sony Vegas Pro for video editing - should I use a Raid0 setup with 2 drives for faster read/write speeds and then use the third for regular storage?

What is the best use of these drives for this purpose?

    Thanks in advance.

You'll want to put your OS and Programs on the SSD for fastest performance.

Unplug the other HD's during install so Win7 doesn't place its boot files on the XP partition. After install, you can plug the other HD's back in to access your files, boot XP if needed via the BIOS one-time Boot Menu key, then wipe the HD's when you're ready. Disk - Clean and Clean All with Diskpart Command

Here are some tips for getting a perfect install, based on hundreds I've done: re-install windows 7
