Hi,
I would suggest you to unregister and re-register Windows installer, and check if it helps:I would also suggest you to run System File Checker and see if it helps, here are the steps:
- On the "Start" menu, Type Run in the search bar and hit enter.
- In the "Open" box, type "msiexec /unreg", and then press ENTER.
- On the "Start" menu, Type” Run” in the search bar and hit enter.
- In the "Open" box, type "msiexec /regserver", and then press ENTER.
sfc /scannow
- Click Start, click All Programs, click Accessories, right-click Command Prompt, and select Run as Administrator.
- Click Continue or supply Administrator credentials if prompted.
- In the Command Prompt window type the following, and press Enter
OS
Just did both, no go so far. : (
No integrity violations were found with sfc/scannow
Try uninstalling with Revo Uninstaller Free. Once the Java uninstall completes, do not reboot if asked to do so. Go to the next step in Revo where it scans the registry for leftover Java stuff. Delete all highlighted entries only. Then on to the last step where it locates and lists all leftover Java files. Delete all listed.
Reboot and try installing Java again.
Thanks Ztruker, just tried that as well and I still cant install, im getting the same error...
Go to Start My computer>C/ Drive>Program files
Right click on the java file and delete it,
Now install the latest version of java
Check the Event Viewer>Custom>Admin View to see if any errors logged about this. Google repeat errors to resolution.
Check also the Performance log on Advanced Tools page accessed by clicking your WEI score link at Computer>Properties. Check for cued issues at the top of Tools page, Generate A System Health Report.
Type Problems in Start Search box to see if there are Solutions ready for problems reported or not.
Are you not able to uninstall the Java package? If so, then uninstall it and reinstall full Java from their website.
Do you have System Restore points dating back to before your last Java Update or Java full install?
This fixed it!
