Technet edition -- can't upgrade W7 Pro to Ultimate
Since they messed around with Technet reducing nr of keys to 5 etc there seems to be another problem.
I can't upgrade a Version of X-86 Windows 7 Professional to x-86 Windows 7 Ultimate any more -- I want the Ultimate edition to test out the Multi Language packs for some International Users.
Now I get a message saying to Upgrade one edition of Windows to another you have to go to Windows Anytime Upgrade which then seems to want some sort of payment.
I don't really want to do a clean install as I need to test whether the update works.
Anyway round this problem -The Windows 7 editions are both X-86 and genuine technet downloaded editions with valid keys.
I upgraded from a Starter edition on a Netbook to Windows 7 Pro without any problems before so in Windows 7 PRO to ULTIMATE should work.
What gives. ???
edited -- problem solved
I entered a Key from the OLD ( 10 key set before the change to 5) when prompted for Upgrade key And it worked fine No money etc needed and it only took 10 mins
