I'm currently trying to install Windows 7 Ultimate on my:
- 2.2GHz AMD Athlon 64 x2 Dual Core processor
- 500gb HDD
- 2gb ram
- Radeon x1650 GFX
My problem is that when ever I try to install Windows 7 and get the "Installing Windows screen up", it instantainiously finishes step one(Copying Windows files) and proceds to step two, which is "Expanding Windows files". It then goes up to 62%, but not immediately, but after having worked abit from 0% to get there and then it stops at 62%. It has been there for an hour or more now and haven't moved a tiny bit.(in percentage). The dots after the (62%) are changing
. .. ... in an infinited loop. I'm able to move the mouse and I know from previously I could still stop the installation by clicking on the [ X ]
in the top right cornor.
I've had Windows 7 on my machine before and this problem did not occur back then.
Yes, I'm using the exactly same Windows disk.
It was fully functional before I used the Windows formatter to "delete" my current installation(when I booted up from the disk).
Thanks for your time,
