Windows installer is stuck at 62%.

Hello guys.

I'm currently trying to install Windows 7 Ultimate on my:
  • 2.2GHz AMD Athlon 64 x2 Dual Core processor
  • 500gb HDD
  • 2gb ram
  • Radeon x1650 GFX
My problem is that when ever I try to install Windows 7 and get the "Installing Windows screen up", it instantainiously finishes step one(Copying Windows files) and proceds to step two, which is "Expanding Windows files". It then goes up to 62%, but not immediately, but after having worked abit from 0% to get there and then it stops at 62%. It has been there for an hour or more now and haven't moved a tiny bit.(in percentage). The dots after the (62%) are changing
. .. ... in an infinited loop. I'm able to move the mouse and I know from previously I could still stop the installation by clicking on the [ X ] in the top right cornor.

I've had Windows 7 on my machine before and this problem did not occur back then.
Yes, I'm using the exactly same Windows disk.

It was fully functional before I used the Windows formatter to "delete" my current installation(when I booted up from the disk).

Thanks for your time,
-- realchamp.

This is, however a fresh install of Windows I'm trying to perform.

I did the "shift f10" and got up the console. But I'm unsure what to do next.
As I cannot, as the article tells me, go into the start menu and perform the specified fix.

I've also restarted my computer several times, but tried to perform a new installation.

EDIT:

Found the "setupact.log" in X:\Windows\ - however I donnot have access to see it.
And I also got an error now.
"Windows cannot install required files. Make sure all files required for installation are available, and restart the installation. Error code: 0x8007045D

I'm not performing an upgrade. This is a costum/fresh install. I do not have any sort of start menu

I thinking of a possible solution, because last time I had to use a program called "Del Disk"(which cleans my entire disk) before I was able to perform the installation.

Use Diskpart "Clean All" from the Windows 7 DVD Command Line to wipe the HD of all code before trying install: SSD / HDD : Optimize for Windows Reinstallation

The tutorial will also show you how to partition if you want to avoid the 100mb System Reserved partition issued by the installer on a cleaned HD. But since the SysRserved partition places the Repair console on the F8 Advanced Boot Tools menu (instead of just the DVD or CD) it is worth having so I would use the installer to partition and format after using Clean All to wipe the HD.

Some install tips based on hundreds done here: re-install windows 7
