W7 Pro Install Question

Just wondering. I have XP Pro 32bit as of now with Windows 7 Pro Upgrade on order. Will Windows 7 recognize my cpu as 64bit compliant, and give me the option to install 64bit OS instead of 32bit?

Thanks,

D.

Shortly: Yes.

Normally, all Windows 7 retail boxes include both x86 and x64 versions. You can not, of course, in-place upgrade an x86 system to x64 or vice versa, or XP to Seven, so in your case you have to do a clean install in any case, to whichever bit version you decide to use.
