Windows 7 setup hangs at start

    Hi there,

I'm trying to install Windows 7 on a brand new system I just bought and build.
When booting the pc with the Windows 7 RC 7100 build I get the windows is copying files screen, the loading screen and after that i get the background with the cursor but it hangs there.

I can move the cursor in the screen and also can use shift-f10 to get to the command prompt. When I typ in setup.exe it starts loading but it also hangs there.

After waiting for a couple of hours I finally got the screen to install but than it said it could't find the cd/dvd drive. How can it not find the cd/dvd drive if it's already in the setup that is located on the dvd?

The HDD in the new system is not formatted. Might that cause the problem?

    Please help.

    Thanks beforehand,

    Harmen

This really sounds weird. What O/S have you used before? Maybe some Bios Settings were wrong?

I don't think so. The HDD is on SATA1 and the CD/DVD is on SATA2. All SATA bios settings are on auto...
