Windows 7: Dual Booting EASYBCD help needed

I have Windows 7 installed on Drive C. WinXP is on drive D (restored from a Macrium Reflect Image). I have successfully used EASYBCD to enter change the bootloader, yet it doesn;t work.

I get a "Missing NTLDR" with instructions to get my CD out... But what shoudl I do here/ I have already spent a weekend rebuilding my drives and I don't want to do it again. can you please help me?

NTLDR is in a hidden folder (usually on the first installed OS (XP?)). Did you by chance delete the partition (D?). If you use your win 7 dvd it will restore the NTLDR for you. Called a repair install. See tutorials if you need help

Thank you. I did read through the tutorials in this forum, but my learning curve is bad. hat's why I went with the restoring of the old image I happened to have on dvd...

After posting my original comment I was able to get the ntldr thing straightened out, but the system hung up, so I'mm back to trying the slipstreaming drivers into an XP installation disc, using Nlite, and my original problem with that...

How do I get my SATA drivers? That';s what I really want to know. I have a Samsung Spinpoint 1TB drive. After reading through the tutorials on using Nlite I still cannot FIND my driver .inf for the drive...

I'm going to the Nlite forums for help on that.

The hard drive doesn't need a driver. The motherboard needs the SATA drivers to make the HD work.

Make and model # of mo board would help if you need assistance searching for them.

Also filling in System Specs would help. How to is here.

You need the SATA controller storage driver, a component of your mobo chipset unless you have a special card for SATA controller.

If you unzip the chipset and browse using Nlite, it should clue you which is the SATA controller. If not, slipstream in the entire chipset.

Are you trying to run a Repair Install on the XP you reimaged? Another approach would be to mark Windows 7 Active, run Startup Repair x3 until it starts, then from EasyBCD 2.0 add XP, accept offered boot files, Save, Restart.
