Dual Booting WIndows 7 and XP

    Hi

I know there is a thread on this related to a very good tutorial which I used to set up my dual boot with DualBoot Pro in the first place. Unfortunately the thread is so long that it gets to the point of not being very helpful so I thought it best to create a new topic.

I tried to use my xp system for the first time the other evening and it wouldn't boot. Just kept booting into Win7 (main system). I got into a bit of a pickle using dualboot pro to try to change the drive for the xp system and I also tried creating a Windows Legacy boot loader on the partition on whcih XP resides. All I succeeded in doing was stopping Win7 from booting as ntdlr could not be found. I fixed this by restoring the win7 mbr from command prompt but now, I need to work out what's wrong.

DUALBOOTPRO boot info - does this indicate what is wrong? Why can I not boot into the XP system when I select it on the start up dos screen?

This is Brinks tutorial on Dual booting win7 and XP
I used Method Two myself but Method One works if that is what you need.

Dual Boot Installation with Windows 7 and XP

Dual Boot Pro may work but I have never used it or heard of it so I can't help you with that.

    The tutorials use EasyBCD.

You may need to remove XP from the other utility's Dual Boot menu in order to add it correctly using EasyBCD 2.0 from Win7. If it still shows up on the Easy listings page, then remove it there on Edit Boot menu tab and Add it back so it is done correctly

If this fails please post back a screenshot of your full Disk Management drive map with listings, using Snipping Tool in Start Menu?
