Windows 7 Install Help

Im trying to install Windows 7 x86 Home Pre on my Notebook. As Windows 7 advister says I can run this with only two drivers updates. (WIFI & MODEM)

System Spec: ECS/Uniwill AMD Turion X64 Single Core 2Ghz, K8 890 Chipset VIA 8237R (754)
Hitich 80 Gig PATA 7200Rpm, ATI X700 Video, Via Vinyal Audio, 1 Gig Ram (PQI)

I order this System from Cyberpowerpc, 3 years ago and order it without Win Vista
Home Pro. As I had XP Pro SP3 to install. Since then I Have Only Replaced the CD/DVDRW Drive with a Sony, And the Ram with 200 pin So-Din DDR 3200 400
800 Ft Bus. Now I Brought 2 Copys of Windows 7 OEM & a Retail Copy. Both being
X86 Home Pre. En. when installing OS I get to the last part of the install screen
(After 1st Reboot) where it says updateing Reg and final install details. And the HD will flicker on & off evey so often, But the System Just quits doing anything. I've even waited over night and nothing. Currently Trying out a copy of Vista Home Pre
for a dell, It installed flawless in under 20 min. Thank for you time

Make sure you have the latest BIOS version update. If so, reset the CMOS: Clear CMOS - 3 Ways to Clear the CMOS - Reset BIOS

In BIOS setup, set the SATA controller to AHCI first, then IDE mode if necessary.

Test your RAM with memtest86 for 5-6 passes. Double check your RAM specs, swap RAM sticks to reseat.

Test your HD using maker's full diagnostics/repair CD scan: http://www.tacktech.com/display.cfm?ttid=287

Then run Disk Check from the DVD Command Line, accessed by pressing Shift + F10 on first screen after boot.

Next wipe the HD of all code to try install: SSD / HDD : Optimize for Windows Reinstallation

well thanks, but I've done pretty much all that you have listed. but hitchi does not have anything for this 2.5 HDD tools for testing. I've asked many time. bios have been updated 3 years ago. EC OEM Ver 1.06, New ECS Ver. 1.07. So thats done. and the ram is New like 3 days old. And I tested it 1st thing, and I have even changed slots. I've just come to the concluse that this Notebook just needs to be R&R. Thanks
