creating RAID, can I clone my install to it?

MOBO = Gigabyte x58a-ud5

I just got 2 SSDs I'm trying to put in RAID0 and hopefully clone my current install. When I change the bios settings to set the intel RAID controlled to xhd and raid but try to boot from my windows installation it wont boot, it gets to ''starting windows'' and then BSOD. When I turn the RAID setup off and try to install the XHD drivers the install aborts saying ''this is not a RAID setup". Is there something I can do to get the drivers installed on my current setup then clone it to the RAID drives?

the other option I have is to plug my current OS drive into one of the other SATA controllers on the MOBO which arent set to RAID and maybe windows will boot then and allow me to install the XHD drivers before cloning.
