from 64 bit to 32 bit

So i just bought the actual cd because i used to have a bad copy of windows 7.. now I'm not computer savvy at all so i think i did something pretty dumb.. I installed windows 7 home premium 64 bit but then i did the compatibility thing and it said i should download the 32 bit. so i did but now when i start my comp it gives me the option to choose which one i wanna start.. basically i want to know how can i erase everything and just start over. or if theres a way to erase the other one.. i need help!! everythings going super slow and idk wut to do.

We could use your system specs. If your dell is a "dual core" it can run 64bit but if you dont have much ram stick to 32.

I believe you have dual installed both, and may be able to just delete the one you dont want but could use some info first

Hello jaynhd, welcome to Seven Forums!

You mention starting over, if there is no data on the PC you need to save, you can boot the 32-bit Windows 7 DVD and do a wipe (secure erase) of the entire Hard Disk Drive to get the best possible clean space to install Windows to; have a look at this tutorial at the link below.

If you want to remove one of the Windows 7 installations and keep the other one running, that is possible but have a look at the info below to see how to post a snip of disk management for us to look at before we make any specific recommendations.

Be sure to post back with any further questions you may have and to keep us informed.

Information

In the Windows start menu right click computer and click manage, in the left pane of the "Computer Management" window that opens click disk management and post a snip of that.

I was trying to find a way to completely wipe out my comp and just start over because now i know how to install it the right way. another thing i noticed is that i installed one on the (E: ) and one on the (C: ) drive

any help id appreciate it.

I tried to do a system recovery..
these are the steps i followed..
F8>Repair your computer>Image recovery>
Now from what i see online its suppose to say "format hard drive and restore to factory condition" but it doesn't say that...

How can i just start clean??

If you want a "clean slate" to start over see the method out-lined in this tutorial, be advised this will over-write any/all data on the entire HDD, it will be un-recoverable.

Jay Have you made a copy of your 32 bit download? Did you get key with it? You need a copy of that before you delete anything?

Jay Welcome to SevenForums. Glad that you have the DVDs and the Microsoft activation keys before you wipe your drive of data. It seemed to me as if you had downloaded the OS and then ran the Setup exe file from within your other 64 install. Continue on with Bare Foot Kid's excellent tutorials and advise and you will get the results that you desire. Good luck to you.
