blue screen while trying to install XP as the 2nd OS

Hi all : ) I too have gotten the blue screen ( windows must shut down ,,,,, etc etc) while trying to install xp as the 2nd operating system from the xp install disk. i use win7 pro 64 bit which i had to do a custom install from a 32 bit vista operating system, whether that makes any difference. Tried both methods for installing sata drivers cause i use a sata hard drive , but still get blue screen right after message , setup is starting windows , then have to turn off computer with button. This subject seems to end up in a black void. Did Anyone Figure This Problem Out Please, Thanks ( i have the tech info for the blue screen stop message if needed, pci.sys was in it)

FYI - some SATA and/or RAID drivers have 2 portions of text mode setup. One is required to run first, then the 2nd part.

You want the SATA controller driver from the chipset, using text mode as Josh says.

Are you booting the XP installer to try install? Will this be a Dual Boot with Vista or are you planning to delete Vista during install?

First check for all the Win XP drivers for your hardware.
If your Win XP CD, does not support your Sata Controller, you will need to load drivers to uses at F6.
Load Sata Controller drivers with a floppy disk is the best way.

SATA Drivers - Load in Windows XP Setup on Dual Boot
    OR
SATA Drivers - Slipstream into Windows XP CD

Your Gigabyte ga-ep45t-ud3lr has a Intel Sata Controller.
You can download your F6 Sata Controller drivers from here:

Hi all , thanks for your replies, i got past blue screen freeze up while trying to load windows xp for 2nd operating system for dual boot . Windows is starting message appeared and went on to ask me where i wanted to put xp, Loading sata drivers from floppy did not work, Slipstreaming sata drivers onto setup disk did not work. changing settings for sata controllers did not have that option , but i'll tell you what did.
Downloading a copy of Win xp pro 2009 with SP3 and sata drivers included from a torrent site did. I burned the iso onto a bootable cd , and vuawhala, it worked. MeSoHappy! : ) Not sure how the rest of setup will go , i will install later, i must rest.

Thanks for reporting back what helped.

That an XP with slipstreamed SATA drivers worked means the slipstreaming must have not taken when you tried it.

Be sure to rightclick scan that downloaded torrent ISO with Malwarebytes and your AV as they sometimes carry infection.

Just an update, tried slipstreaming sata's again but still got blue screen stop order at windows setup. Did make a mistake on previous try for SS at the copy folder part, but not this time. At the insert of single txt file part i was presented with a choice of about a dozen sata drivers , i went with the top choice, what the heck , perhaps that was the wrong one. Anyways i found the right fix for me i hope with the xp sp3 and sata disk. I don't wanna F around any more , i lost enough hair
