Im trying to install xp over my windows 7 on a hp mini netbook, i cant seem to get any software working to make my 16gb hp usb bootable, so i tried using my xp files on my other computer and tried mounting them with daemon tools but it just wont let me click install windows xp? Any ideas?
Yeah no problem, my windows 7 is running really slow, the netbook has only 1gb ram, xp was so much faster on it! Hopefully someone can help, i cant be bothered wasting money on an external cd drive thatll be used probably once lol
You should do your research first to see how well it works (or doesn't) in getting a spare internal DVD or CDROM drive to boot off one of these through your netbook.
Are you running 32 bit Windows 7? I am running 32 bit Ultimate on an old HP510 business notebook with Celeron and 1gb RAM and it runs fast with no hangs ever.
A lot depends on the install. If that's a factory install with all the bloatware, you could try clean reinstalling using these steps to get a purrfect install: re-install windows 7

Also yes im running windows 7 ultimate 32 bit, its the retail version so probably is full of crap lol ill have a look, ive just read that you cant boot xp from a usb though? Not sure if its true?
I think ive managed to make the usb bootable, but when i choose to boot from it it comes up a windows 98 screen? Then like a command prompt, although i have a windows xp image on it?
