Moving MS office to another computer.

I have Office 2010 Home & Student on my laptop.

Because, the company I work for is offering full blown promotional copies of MS office to all us employees, I want to remove my purchased copy and save it for later use on another computer.
This is so I won’t lose my purchased copy when I load the promotional copy, and load it onto a different computer when I'm ready.

Can this be done? if so, please explain.

How did you get your copy? If you downloaded it you should still have the file you downloaded. Put it on a CD or DVD and use it to install at a later time, then uninstall it and install the new one from your employer.

If you have problems with the Office 2010 H&S version later a call to MS will resolve it.

Once you have installed and registered or activated. you can't move it to another computer.
If you bought the teacher/student version, SOME allow up to 3 installs. some don't

    Sorry

I bought the Office Home and Student 2010, it's not teacher/student software. I had it installed at Best Buy when i purchased my laptop. I'm thinking its on the bup copy they made for me. Is it true i cannot move it to a different comp?

Don't worry. It will work as long as you have your key. I have moved Home and Student around all the time - never had a problem.
