Windows 7 + UEFI Based Install + SD Card/USB Drive = Fail?

    Windows 7 + UEFI Based Install + SD Card/USB Drive = Fail?


    I want to install Windows 7 to a UEFI-compatible netbook that only has a SD Card slot and a single USB Port (the netbook I'm refering to is the CR-48 if anyone is curious)

    I know this computer supports UEFI (I was able to start the Fedora 14 EFI and Win7 x64 EFI installers) but my assumption is that EFI-based OS installs require you to have the disc inserted (both installers failed to actually load)

    Anyone have an idea on a solution for this other then to buy a External DVD drive?

    EDIT: I may be on to something, but I'll find out shortly

    Google Cr-48 specs - gdgt
    As the spec's are 32bit, 64bit will not install.

    CR-48 can support a 64-bit OS install (did it with Ubuntu and Windows 7 x64 in MBR mode).

    Anyway, I got it figured out (went to a Mac fourms for it)
    InsanelyMac Forum > Change the booting style of Windows Vista or 7 x86_64 versions from BIOS-MBR mode to UEFI-GPT mode without formatting or reinstalling

    Best method would be to use a 4GB FAT32 (not NTFS) formatted USB pen-drive. Extract the ISO or copy the DVD contents to the pendrive, and copy the bootmgfw.efi file to /EFI/Boot/bootx64.efi
