Windows 7: Windows 7 HDD installation problems.

Hello, Im in a bit of a pickle. I hope somebody can help me!



First off, I built new system. All good stuff. I tried to install Windows 7 on a new HDD (western Digital 500gb HDD). At first my problem was that my Windows 7 installation disk would not find the hard drive even though it was showing up fine in my BIOS. I tried everything i could to try and get this to show up but to no avail.

Then i tried to make my hard drive 'ACTIVE' by following this link i found on another thread.

Once I did that and rebooted i just got a messege saying 'Invalid partition table.'

Im really stuck now and I need help to get this drive working again and recognisable to my Windows 7 installation.

Incase you need them;

Motherboard: ASUS M4A87TD/USB3
CPU: AMD Phenom II X4
4Gb DDR3 RAM
Western Digital WD5000avvs 500Gb HDD
ATI Radeon HD5450

Make sure you have the latest BIOS update. If so, reset the CMOS: Clear CMOS - 3 Ways to Clear the CMOS - Reset BIOS

While in BIOS setup set SATA controller to AHCI to try install.

Wipe the HD: SSD / HDD : Optimize for Windows Reinstallation

Remove all other HD's and peripherals to try install.

If this fails, try removing all but 2gb of RAM to try install.
