    Help with installation

I got the windows 7260 build if i recall.. (i'm writing this from my laptop now)...

I burned the iso on to a dvd... i had vista 32 bit, i formatted the c drive and procedeed to install windows 7...

The installation completed and the computer restarted...

mind you... i recently did a lot of part changes on my computer because i had trouble with vista... i got a new motherboard (gigabyte ma770-ud3)
    i got ddr 2 ocz (4gigs), i have palit sonic hd 4870... i also got a new c: drive...

anyways vista finally worked fine and did not crash at all

going back to my win 7 install...once it restarts it goes to that loading screen...says a few things like updating registry and what not...

then on the blue screen for win 7 it pops up the error message:

"windows installation encountered an unexpected error. Verify that the installation sources are accessible, and restart the installation.
    Errror code: 0xC0000005

now i have read and searched the forum about this but didn't find much help because its not bad ram or bad HD..

could it just possibly be a bad burn?
    any other suggestion?

There is a good chance you may have a bad burn; did you burn the disk at the highest speed of your DVD burner if so then try doing so again at slower speed. My first attempt after downloading from MS download was at my DVD's fastest speed, hence, it would not load up, so instead I reburned using 8X vice the 18X and it worked fine.

I used gBurner to reburn instead of Nero, not sure is that was the reason it worked the second time, albeit you never know. Also, being you had to get the 7260 from a friend or torrent site there could be a score of problems, hope not. :)

thanks for suggestion i guess i need to reinstall vista to do the burning ...
unless i download a copy from MS overnight on the laptop and burn it...

did you get the same erorr though as me..when you burned on highest speed?

ok so i'm downloading now from the windows 7 rc site..
just a quick Q: what is being downloaded..it says

    7100.0.090421-1700_x86fre_client_en-us_retail_ultimate-grc1culfrer_en_dvd.iso

    is this the latest build?

That's the latest official straight from Microsoft, yes. On torrents, you can find unscantioned but still official newer builds, latest being 7260.
