| | Create bootable USB drive for Windows 7 x64 on a x86 machine I'm using Windows 7 Professional as a 32 bit version. Now I want to install Windows 7 Professional 64 bit on my machine from my USB drive. The problem is that my machine doesn't boot from the USB drive. Anyway, I've tried with a 32 bit version of Windows 7 on my USB drive. This works well, but not with a 64 bit version. Why it doesn't work? Just to be on the safe side, I've tested it several times with other USB drives and followd thoroughly the instructions(diskpart). |

| | Hello Coffee, and welcome to Seven Forums. You can only create a 64-bit Windows 7 bootable USB flash drive if your current Windows 7 installation is also 64-bit. You can create a 32-bit Windows 7 bootable USB flash drive if your current Windows 7 installation is 32-bit or 64-bit. Sorry mate. | | if i put a .iso of windows7 ultimate.. either bit... onto USB will it boot...as long as my MB is able too? |

| | Hello Liamf, Sorry, but no. You would have to use something like Method One in the tutorial below to burn the ISO to the USB flash drive. Plus, you would have to set your BIOS to boot from a USB flash drive if supported before you will be able to. USB Windows 7 Installation Key Drive - Create Hope this helps, Shawn |
