    Installation location?

    Dear friends,
What is the default location of Direct x_June 2010 Redistrib. after downloading from source? Should it be in the C: Documents and Settings,OR any other location in the C drive? Any helpful answer is most welcome and appreciated! Awaiting!

    Thanks,
    Sreedhav

    Hello mate.

Have you tried the "Program Files (x86)" file?

    Dear Bare Foot Kid,
Can you point out the path? I tried to include it in "Common Files"---> C:\Program Files\Common Files\DirectX, but no luck! I thought this should have been a common query among gaming pros, as the proper location of DirectX is important! Thank you!

    Regards,
    Sreedhav:)

    Sreedhav.

You need to go to the location where you "installed" it, and actually run the installer, it's named DXSETUP.exe

Let me explain, if you decompressed the directx into C:\Program Files (x86)\Dx (for example) go to that location and run the installer :)

That location that the installer asks, is just to decompress the files so you can run the "real" installer. when you run the installer, it won't ask you to create a path or where do you want it installed, the installer will do all that no need to worry, mate.
