    Running windows 7 and want to install xp on external


    Hey guy's/gal's well im trying to install xp on and external and runnning 7 now..
    I found a sit that will help me with this Ngine.de - How to install and run a FULL Windows XP from a USB drive.


    I'm having a problem with the sdk how do I get it to run i open the bin and the extracter and it flases the CMD and that's it is it not compadible with window's 7 please help me or direct me in the right direction if this guy is wrong..

    Those are command line programs. That's why your getting a command window "flash'. You need to run them from a cmd prompt. Try running them in compatibility mode.

    That being said, expand.exe (the extractor for those packed files) should already be part of W7 as it came with XP. They might even have added a compressor but I'm not in the mood to dig around my system folder right now. If they are both there, you don't need the SDK.

    7-Zip will also extract those types of files via a GUI.
