Resource Monitor HDD display

I just installed windows 7 on a separate clean partition (there are now three multiboot installs for different apps. One partition for most apps. The other two are relatively bare installs for two different video editors.)

So far only things installed on the new system are O/S, including SP1 from downloaded install disk, and all hw drivers needed to satisfy device manager.

=======================================

On this installation, Resource Monitor does not display drives correctly. For example, on the disk tab only total disk activity appears on the sidebar graphs. No individual drive graphs, not even C: No drives displayed on the storage panel. No activity from other than C: drive in the app and file activity panels.

Same on the summary tab.

All drives display normally in "my computer" and disk management and all are accessible.

=======================================

Any idea what is going on or how to correct?
I tried save config from another install, then loading it to the new one. No help.

(Yes I could just start over, but I hate to do that without understanding what happened since it could just happen again.)

Repair (upgrade) install from original disk fixed it. Had to uninstall SP1 first, do the repair, then reinstall SP1.
