Windows 7: Motherboard & Processor Switch

Motherboard & Processor Switch

I think I know the answer to this, but I'll throw it out there anyway for an expert.... (& maybe a laugh)

I have a working 2008R2 SP1 running on an older Intel dual core proc and an Intel MB w/onboard video & SATA controller. I want to upgrade and will be changing to an AMD 6 core & ASUS Mb, also w/onboard SATA & video.

Any new tricks or techniques that would allow me to take my SATA boot drive and move it to the new Proc & MB and get it to boot & run?

I know I am changing just about every important component there is, but by chance is there any method out there that would allow me to avoid re-installation?

I know, I know, just a simple little change.

You may be able to use the "sysprep" utility to genericize the installation before moving it to the new motherboard.

It's intended for deploying Windows on diverse hardware, but it might work for you.

It'd be wise to prepare as if you needed to do a clean installation, though. Just in case.

I refer to Drive Copy 11 (a new release). On the surface, this is being sold as an ideal migration tool. It's not clear to me where this product sits in relation to Paragon's Adaptive Restore for migrating to a totally new PC.
