    boot Win 7 from usb

I have a single disk single partitiion system running Win 7. I would like to has another Win 7 on the same hardware so that I can experiment on and without affecting my original system. I am thinking of installing Win 7 on a USB finger from which I can boot and do whatever testing/trial I need. How can this be done? Searched the forum and googled, most of the posting are for creating a bootable Win 7 installing USB, rather than Installing Win 7 on USB. Please help.

    Hi,

Have a look at the following

Can I install Windows7 onto an external USB hard drive?

It states issues regarding installing any Windows OS onto a device that is deemed as removable. Best thing is to do a google search for the term install windows 7 onto flash drive

Virtualize a second install of Windows 7 for testing. Assuming you even get the Windows 7 install to work on a USB drive, the perofrmance will be so bad it won't be usable. Don't waste your time or efforts. With virtualization, if something goes awry with the OS, all you need to do is recopy the VM file and you are back to square one again.
