Win 7 will not start after shutdown

I have Win 7 RC installed on a separate partition on an XP P4 notebook (Dell Inspiron 9100). The problem I am about to describe did not happen with the Win 7 Beta.

After installing and starting Win 7 RC, then installing drivers, AVG Free 8.5, and doing the updates, the OS will not restart. It goes into a "start repair" mode on restart, which it can never accomplish. It informs me "ndis.sys" is corrupt, and that's that. Of course, System Restore doesn't work, either, because ndis.sys is needed for the boot. I've had to format and reinstall 7 RC six times now, and I've yet to be able to resolve this issue. I'm getting to the point where I've about had it!

What have I done? I've installed minimal device drivers, no additional software (except for AVG), and the drivers I have installed have been Vista or XP specific (Intel Proset 2200 Wireless, Vista; ATI drivers, XP).

Anyone have any ideas? I'm just a dumb girl, and can't figure this out for the life of me.

ndis.sys is a network driver. Can you start the system in safe mode with networking disabled?

Make sure when you install drivers you are installing the latest ones from either Vista or Windows 7. Most of the drivers made for Windows XP will probably fail.

Thank you! I will try ALL of that. I'll let you know what I discover.

I can't start it in Safe Mode, I can't get to that option....looks like it's reformat (again) and reinstall (again) time.
