hey greg. I think i'm just going to wait for the dvd to arrive. Don't want to do so much work with removing the bloatware and all that because if the Windows DVD is a cleaner version, i rather just do it once.
And just to confirm one last time once i get the cd, i just follow these steps right?
Clean Install Windows 7
Not if they are sending you a Recovery Disk. This is all that most manufacturers will send since they want to make it hard for you to get rid of their sponsors' bloatware which provides most of their profit margin.
To get the clean Installation DVD (with just Win7 and no bloatware) you need to borrow it from a friend or find it another way. Then extract the ISO using ImgBurn to burn to another DVD so you have a copy, or write it to flashstick. You can unlock all versions to install yours using the link in the steps I gave you.
To review:
Recovery Disks reinstall the factory install exactly as it came from the factory, with bloatware and Dell utilities. It is the same as on the Recovery Partition, but another method to run it in case it fails or the HD goes bad.
Installation DVD is a clean copy Win7 installer, which you can use to reinstall factory Win7 without the bloatware and Dell utilities, just the OS, using the Product key on your machine's COA sticker.
Repair CD is used to repair Win7 if it will not boot, or you need to reimage the HD using a backup image. System Repair Disk - Windows 7 Forums

Jackpot. Unless they've changed the name, that DVD is a clean copy of Win7.
You probably don't need the other two unless there is some Dell utility you're yearning for after install (doubtful). Any missing drivers after install and optional Updates should be gotten from the Support Downloads webpage for your Dell model.

Greg, that link you posted has very very complicated steps for the cleaning the ssd/hdd drive. Is this really necessary?
I can't just do the clean install step and thats it? Because i'm looking at the link you gave and eve though you put the steps as clear as possible, someone like me who is horrible with computers is confused already.
I did the right click as admin diskmgmt.msc . And the disk management pops up. Am i suppose to just leave this box open then since you don't mention anything else about this?
If you have a Windows installation disk from Dell and all you want to do is clean your disk completely and reinstall Windows, just use the diskpart command and be done with it.
Disk - Clean and Clean All with Diskpart Command
Basically, you boot from the install disc. When you get to the Windows screen that asks what Language you want to choose, you hit Shift F10 on the keyboard.
That drops you into diskpart. Then follow the tutorial linked. It won't take 2 minutes.
When you exit diskpart, you will be dropped right back where you left off in the Windows installation and you continue as normal.
The following commands should work within diskpart:
list disk (to show the ID number of the hard disk, normally Disk 0)
select disk 0 (change 0 to another number if applicable)
clean all (this overwrites all data on the drive)
create partition primary size=80000 (creates a partition with 80 GB space; to use the entire disk as one partition, omit the “size=value” parameter switch; use a similar command to create more partitions if needed or create in Windows 7 after installation)
select partition 1
active
format fs=ntfs quick
exit
Hey guys. All i did was put the windows 7 reinstallation DVD in and did those steps. I didn't do the optimize the hard drive with the disc etc.
But right now, i cannot go online. I then used the dell driver disk i receive and it showed with a check mark the programs i already have installed. I then tried to install every single other driver there was but a modem one i tried, didn't work.
Does anyone know what i can do now?
