Windows won't load without memory stick

I don't know how it happened but when I turn my computer on it won't load without a memory stick in that contains the recovery CD. If I put the stick everything works perfectly.
The same applies to shutting down, if I try to shutdown without the memory stick in it will just stay on the log on screen. Put it in and click shutdown and it works fine.

    Run a startup repair.

    Startup Repair

That should let you boot from the hdd, after that run a sfc scan to fix any corrupted system files.

SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

If the shutdown problem persists, let us know.

Hello beegor, welcome to Seven Forums!

Will you please post a snip/screen-shot of the entire disk management drive map with a full description as to which drive/partition is which, so we can see what you have going on as there may be a fairly simple way to resolve the situation.

In the Windows start menu right click computer and click manage, in the left pane of the "Computer Management" window that opens click disk management and post a snip of that.
