    windows 7 cannot complete installation

Hi, been trying this for 2 days with no result... Really hope I can get some help.

I installed Windows 7 on my machine using CD, HDD is blank (formatted). Once the system prepare to startup, it will go blank. When I go to safe mode, it says I cannot go to safe mode without complete installation of Windows 7.

I am not sure how to solve this.. I tried re-install XP on the machine, I can get everything back. Shall I run the setup of Windows 7 from Windows XP or how do I install Windows 7 from CD?

When I launch compmgmtlauncher, I can see my computer detected as ACPI x64-based PC, but I am trying to install 32-bit, shouldn't it shows x86?

    My PC configuration as below:
    GA-P43-U3DL
    Intel E8400
    PowerColour 4850 Gfx
    640GB HDD
    4GB Ram.

Good specs there and welcome to Win7Forums vitaminc! So to make sure that I understand you right....You can boot the DVD disk and start the installation...and get to the part of where it says preparing your computer for the first time...and it fails?

Yes, it doesn't boot up, it says setup will continue after the reboot, and it reboots. After that, I see it showing starting windows and logo and then it goes blank, I can wait forever and nothing happens.

Oh yea, I am installing 7210 build.

Ok I got your link, but I don't have the login to access it.

Also, I tried with build 7100 which I got from MS website and same problem happens. Sigh.. really at lost.

When I boot into safe mode, I can see the background says "Setup is preparing your computer for first use". When I boot normally, I don't see this screen, just blank.

I hate that it came down to that...maybe an issue like that will be addressed in the RTM...I can only hope they do

hey guys, i was having the same problem as you guys and it seems that windows 7 7100 and later hates my graphics card, a Raden 4870x2. One thing you can try if you are using dvi to connect your monitor then try to use vga, use a vga adapter if needed. I know analog is probly not the way you want to go, but if it works with analog at least you may have a clue on what the problem is. Btw, i got windows 7100 to work with my geforce just fine with 32 and 64 bit but not with my Radeon.

Good Luck... We all need it

I had the same problem, with the latest RC build from Microsoft. It install for a while, then It Shut My computer down completely. I had to Unplug it and Plug it in and Rebooted. Strange an earlier build had No problems, installing.
One thing I had different than Before was a Newer graphics card, geforce 6700.
My old Graphics card was a Raedon 9250.
