Windows 7 install errors

so I'm trying to install windows 7 again. I got a virus for some reason, I couldn't start up my PC anymore. So I formatted everything in the windows 7 installation(you know before the installation begins). There is nothing left of my old files. So after windows expanded the files it's starting to install the features, but then I get some error saying: could not set the offline locale information Error code 0x80FF000. After that I get a lot of errors saying that files are corrupt and that I have to run checkdisk utility. I don't know how to run that without windows explorer. So it would also be helpful if someone tells me how to run that without having windows on your PC.
The windows 7 dvd is fine, because I used it before on the very same computer and it worked. Only this time I'm getting these strange errors.
So if someone could tell me what to do with this error and how to run the checkdisk utility, I would be grateful.

Did you use the advanced option to setup your disk during the install.

That error code is pointing to either a bad drive or you are trying to install to a Logical partition in a Extended drive.
You can't do that. If you use the advanced option during setup to delete and then create partitions and then format the one the OS is being installed on this won't happen. It will create 2 Primary partitions, 1 100MB for the sys reserve and the second as whatever size you specified for the actual OS install partition.

If you really want to do the partitioning and formatting yourself before you start the OS install you need to make the partition the OS will be installed to a Primary partition.

I suggest you also create the 100MB partition as the first partition on the drive. Win 7 lies to have that partition and what is 100MB on todays big drives.

Just for the record, you can install Windows (XP, Vista or Windows 7) to an Extended partition / Logical drive as long as the "System" boot files are on a Primary partition.
