Windows 7: W7 on separate SSD

Can you put it on a normal Sata port. Not sure what you mean by "eSata rack"

My bad, It is a hot swap on the front of the machine, it just slides in. It is a regular SATA port.

yup, connect the HDD to the motherboard, not a case eSATA port.

Finally it is detected After taking it in out three times, found it was not seated correctly...I guess the 4th time is a charm!

Now, I need to find out how to access the files on it.

Yeah, I use one of those docks too. You have to be very precise when you insert the disks. Especially 2.5" disks sometimes do not seat right. The 3.5" are easier.
