i may be stupid but is there an easy way to convert office 2010 (volume one) into a silent installer thing
Can we assume that your using the enterprise versions or Windows 7 and Office 2010? Or is this an OEM installation? OEM's have a disk that comes with the oem copies that allow windows and office to be installed with a configuration file. Most OEM's create the files and input text files on an external hard disk that once they start it, all goes well without interuption. it is called OEM-PK or something like that.

The modern way to do this is to use Win7 built-in Backup Imaging, capturing the image after it's set up and running best. Backup Complete Computer - Create an Image Backup
If you intend to change hardware, then SysPrep the HD first to capture the image and it will be applicable to any machine in the future with all drivers, activation and hardware ID's removed. SysPrep to move HD to another computer
I do all of my installs this way now, from a base image I've set up for each edition. Works perfectly and takes a lot less time than reinstalling.
