Dell Optiplex gx620 Seagate 1500 Gbytes

Hi, I tried to exchange the 40GB disc for a 1500GB seagate barracuda 7200.11 disc but the Dell Optiplex gx620 doesn't recognize it. I installed the latest Bios A11 from Dell but it still doesn't recognize it. I mounted a 750GB Samsung drive and no problem. Is there a limit on the drive size in this computer? Thanks, Martin

There may be a limit present in the BIOS (or by the SATA controller) for large drives. Aside from trying a BIOS update (which didn't work), you may be out of luck.

if you still have warranty or gurantee o your drive maybe try taking it back for a different model..if not you could always buy an external case and make it a an external hard drive....

Newlink 3.5" Inch USB 2.0 or eSATA To IDE/SATA HDD Enclosure CDLSB-808

maybe something along those still have the benefit of using all your 1.5tb and only uses one usb port.that would be my recommendation.
treply and tell us how you gte along?

Hi, I get random BSODs from time to time... I suspect it's something to do with my video card drivers for my vostro 1500's 8400m gs but i'm not sure. I used the ones listed on nvidia. Device manager shows no driver problems. Any help would be appreciated, dump files attached.

BSOD on Dell Vostro 1500 Laptop
Hi, I was wondering if I could get a 2nd opinion on the dump files from my BSODs. I get them pretty consistently and at first I thought it had to do with some flash/ad blocking plugins i was using with firefox, but it kept happening with IE as well. One of the dumps says utorrent.exe, but i'm...
