problems installing os on new home build

Hey guys i am having a doosy trying to figure out whats wrong woth my new home build. Just put it together and fired it up. Everything went fine. Redid the booting odrer to boot from cd/dvd then hard drive. Then reeboted it and placed the O.s disc in to install the o.s.. By the way i am attempting to install windows 7 ultimate 64bit. Anyways after I put in the disc all it does is load files then reboot and the same process over and over and over. Never get past loading files. Everything is brand new on here not using any old parts. New biostar a880g+ motherboard and 8gb pioneer ddr3 as well as amd iix2 phenom and seagate 1tb hdd. Have no idea what to do. Tried switching the disc to windows7 pro and that didnt work either. i would appreciate some pointers if you guys have any. Thanks

Sounds like you are booting to the disc again after the initial install, you don't want this. When the machine reboots the first time after the initial install/copy of files, press the eject button on your cd/dvd drive and take it out. The system should then boot to the hard drive you just copied your installation files to and continue.

Alternatively you could set your bios boot order to boot to your hard drive FIRST, and then use whatever your BIOS hotkey is to select the DVD/CD drive from the on-the-fly boot menu the first time. This will boot to your Win7 DVD for the install, when it reboots it'll hit the hard drive first and continue on.

Also, sometimes the install will work better with only 1 stick of ram memory installed. Also disconnect any extra USB devices during install or second monitors.

i tried using only one stick of ram that didnt work. The only usbs i have plugged in are the keypad and mouse. Im not having success pulling out the disc either. i thought this was going to be a good day just having built this machine, never had this problem before

So if you pull the disc out after the initial setup is done and it reboots the first time, it still starts up to the same initial setup with no disc in the drive?

all it has ever done is load files. ive never even been to a setup or installation screen. first it will load files then reboot and load files again continuously. if i pull the disc while its rebooting it takes me to hardwar monitor screen which gives me the stats on the temp and other information and tells me to reboot and select proper boot device

When you boot to the Windows DVD for the first time you should be prompted to choose a hard drive to install to, are you not seeing this? Based off what you are saying, it sounds like you're never actually booting to your install disc or your system is crashing/cycle booting while trying to load the disc and you're not progressing that far into the install.

I suspect we aren't quite on the same page here as far as what is actually happening here.

I would recommend to define a 100GB active primary partition on your drive and install to that. You can either use the bootable CD of this program ( Last entry on the page) or cmd on your installation disk. The commands are:

Diskpart
List disk
Select disk n (where n is the number that was given for your HDD where you want to install)
Create partition primary size=100000
Active
Exit

no its never gave me the option to choose any hard drive. all it has ever said was loading files. when it is done loading the files it says its loading comes up with the starting windows and then just reboots from there and starts over with the process.
